Fitzroy Beer Garden

Fitzroy Beer Garden is a pub in Fitzroy with an iconic Beer Garden, as the name suggests. The FBG Beer Garden area feels more like your mate's backyard then an actual venue, in the best way possible. Roofed by trees and one partial actual roof and uneven brickwork and leaf litter around the beer garden, fits the Fitzroy aesthetic to a tee. The DJ area is in the back corner and next to a clear wall with plants behind it is a very cool feature. Friday and Saturday nights typically play RnB and Pop music. It is consistently one of the earliest venues to get a good Dance Floor in Melbourne. One of the main reasons it gets such an early Dance Floor is because of the early close time - 1am. Fitzroy Beer Garden also gets a good early base crowd because they offer lunch and after work drink specials. There aren't many venues on the corner of Smith St and Gertrude St nightlife strip that open before 9pm, so the Fitzroy Beer Garden is the main dinner crowd, that are looking to party, spot. When the Dance Floor starts around 9pm/9:30pm, is largely a younger crowd 18-24 year olds and a mixed crowd. Over summer and on the odd occasion during winter, the Fitzroy Beer Garden hosts a day party. The music centres house music and dabbles in tech-house music. The crowd is usually 18-26 year olds and is more into electronic music than RnB.
